BAREIt™ Laser Hair Removal
in Bozeman

At Skincare MT, we’ve upgraded the experience. We are among the few clinics in the region to utilize the Sciton BareHR™—the world’s first and only high-speed, multi-wavelength platform.

Precision Follicular Clearance.
The Science of BAREIt™.

For residents of Bozeman, an active lifestyle often clashes with the daily frustrations of traditional hair removal. Shaving, waxing, and depilatory creams are not only temporary surface fixes but frequently lead to “winter itch,” folliculitis, and barrier disruption in our dry, high-altitude climate. At Skincare MT, we utilize the Sciton Bare It™ system to move beyond generic “laser” claims. We provide a physician-led path to permanent hair reduction that prioritizes the biological integrity of your skin and the efficiency of your routine.

The Anatomy of Photo-Epilation

Hair reduction via the BAREIt™ system is a process of Selective Photothermolysis. The technology targets the hair follicle during its active Anagen (growth) phase. Bare It™ delivers ultra-fast pulses of light energy that are selectively absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft. This light energy is converted into heat, which travels down to the follicular bulb to thermally coagulate the cells responsible for hair production. Because only a percentage of your hair is in the growth phase at any given time, a clinical series of treatments is required to systematically neutralize the entire follicular field.

Targeted Protocols at Skincare MT

We categorize hair reduction protocols by the patient’s Fitzpatrick Skin Type and hair morphology to ensure the most effective medical intervention.

Our team focuses on Safety-First Efficacy. A critical pillar of our clinical promise is Thermal Control. Montana skin is frequently exposed to intense UV and fluctuating temperatures; therefore, we utilize the Bare It™ system’s high-speed “In-Motion” delivery. This technique gradually raises the temperature of the follicle while protecting the surrounding epidermis with integrated cooling. This allows us to treat large areas—such as the back, legs, or chest—with clinical precision and significantly less discomfort than traditional high-peak lasers.

SkinCare MT FAQ

How Treatment Works

Our approach focuses on Follicular Atrophy and Barrier Preservation. By arresting the growth of hair at the root, we eliminate the need for repetitive mechanical trauma (shaving) and chemical irritation (waxing). This process is particularly beneficial for patients prone to Pseudofolliculitis Barbae (ingrown hairs) or localized inflammation. As the follicles go dormant, the skin’s texture becomes more uniform and the barrier is allowed to heal, resulting in a smooth, resilient surface that is better equipped for the Bozeman environment.

What to Expect

  • A personalized consultation to assess skin tone, hair type, and goals
  • Quick treatment sessions, even for larger areas
  • Minimal downtime with most patients returning to normal activities right away
  • A series of treatments spaced several weeks apart for best results
PATIENT QUESTIONS

BAREIt™ Laser Hair Removal FAQ

Clinical answers from our board-certified dermatologists.

Will the results look natural?

While the end goal is the same, they use different light technologies. Traditional lasers use a single wavelength, while BAREIt™ (BroadBand Light) uses a broad spectrum of light. The advantage of Bare It™ is its speed and “In-Motion” delivery, which allows for faster treatments and a higher safety margin on a wider range of skin tones.

Is the hair removal permanent?

We prefer the term Permanent Hair Reduction. While the majority of treated follicles are permanently neutralized, hormonal changes or dormant follicles can occasionally produce new growth over time. Most patients experience an 80-90% reduction in hair density.

Can you treat tan skin in the summer?

In our Bozeman climate, summer sun is intense. We strongly advise avoiding active tanning before and after treatment. However, the Bare It™ system is highly adjustable. As long as the skin is not actively burned or freshly tanned, our board-certified protocols allow us to treat patients safely throughout the year.

Why do I need multiple sessions?

Hair growth is not synchronized. Only hair in the Anagen (active growth) phase is susceptible to the light energy. At any given time, only about 15-20% of your hair is in this phase. To capture every follicle as it enters the growth cycle, a series of 6 to 8 treatments is standard.
